Dobson Space Telescope was present at the IAA small satellites symposium
in Berlin for the third time. Using our membership in RiBB, the network
of the small satellites industry in Germanys capital region our team was
able to display our project with a dedicated booth at RiBB showroom at
the conference.

- We congratulate the LAPAN TUBSAT team of TU Berlin and LAPAN for the
successful launch of LAPAN TUBSAT Microsatellite. LAPAN TUBSAT was
developed and built by a team of Germany and Indonesian Engineers under
the head of Prof. Udo Renner. The 56kg coke crate sized satellite is the
7th of the TUBSAT series. Its main camera is able to aquire 6m
resolution live video images. Main purpose of the project is technology
tranfer.
We are also very proud that we are able to contribute to the success of
the satellite. Our team is involved in the process of trouble
shooting for the main instrument of the satellite. We also supplied
software and algorithms for image post processing.

- Today we recieved the results of the modal analysis of our telescope structure: This work was done in cooperation with the Institute of Mechanics at the TU-Berlin. We are very pleased with the results. The structure shows very robust behaviour and is very unsensitive to vibrations induced by the satellite. The results of this work will be published in a paper on the IAF congress in Valencia.

- We are back from our parabolic flight. We had some wonderful days in Bordeaux. The experiment was successful and deployed smothly under zero-g condition. We would like to thank the ESA Eduction Office for making this possible.

The Dobson Space Telescope Project will be present at this years IAC in Vancouver. We are going to hold a poster presentation in the “small satellites operations and missions” and a oral presentation in the “enabling new technologys” session. We would also like to thank both the ESA and the German DGLR for sponsoring the conference vistit for two of our team members.

- An external team supervised by Prof. Briess will try to build a foldable space optic for a Cube-Sat. Today was our first meeting with them. We discussed the general problems and advantages of this technology.
Today we met with Mr. Trittelvitz. He is a famous Germany Amateur Telescope Maker and he shared with us his knowledge about collimation of telescopes.

- Today was the final presentation of our cooperation project with Prof. Timpe from the MMS Institute of the TU-Berlin. The students did a survey about “New users for low-cost high resolution satellite based remote sensing”. We were very delighted by the results of this work and we already planning future cooperration with Prof Timpe and the MMS Institute.

- Today was the starting lecture of Prof. Briess at the TU-Berlin. He spoke about the BIRD-Mission and his plans for developing space science at TU-Berlin. Dr. Sandau head of the IR sensor Systems of the DLR Adlershof and Mr. A.Lindenthal Director of EADS earth observation also held lectures about microsats as a sophisticated plattform for earth observation and about EADS Earth observation programmes. Both Prof Brieß and Dr. Sandau called the Dobson Space Telescope an inovative project.
